In June 2023, a boy named Alex O'Keefe decided he wanted to raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, so he wrote a letter to Mayor Dana Ralph of Kent City Council in Washington DC.
After meeting Alex and his twin sister – who both live with FASD – Mayor Ralph invited him to come and talk to the council meeting. Council members were extremely impressed by Alex's words and the Mayor issued a proclamation that Kent City would do all it could to help raise more awareness of FASD and fund further support.
