You're invited: FASD-CAN will be hosting an event in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland on 09/09 as part of our International Awareness Day celebrations. All are welcome – nau mai, haere mai!
• Meet the FASD-CAN Board and connect with others
This get-together is a chance to meet FASD-CAN Board members and connect with others on the same path – people with FASD, caregivers, whānau and professionals – and talk about priorities for support.
• Guest speaker: Aaron Hendry, KickBackMakeChange
In keeping with our 2026 theme, we will hear about the role of communities and how, when we all work together, we can make things happen! Aaron Hendry of KickBackMakeChange has been a youth worker for many years. He's a tireless advocate for homeless youth and appears regularly across the media to voice his concerns about the lack of support for them. Aaron will address the need for community involvement to improve their wellbeing.
We'll also hear from some of our young people with FASD – their stories and their challenges in transitioning to interdependence and in accessing housing.
• As part of our community – please tell us your thoughts!
As part of our 2026 theme, we invite everyone to give your input into FASD-CAN’s future directions. You’ll be able to do this on paper at the event.
If you can’t be there, please give us your feedback via this form.
Those who take part (whether online or at the event) will go into a draw to win a $300 supermarket voucher.
We look forward to seeing you in Western Springs Gardens Hall at 5.30pm on 09/09!
