Our amazing youth / rangatahi team has won a RUNNER UP award at the inaugural Canadian FASD Film Festival for the short film FASD-CAN submitted about Tītoki / o
ur weekend camps!
The film shows some of the young people and their caregivers or parents who support them at the Tītoki weekend camps, talking about what it means to them to get together with others who understand them – for connection, friendship and to find out more about having FASD.
In her acceptance speech (via Zoom) our Navigator Anna Gundesen said, "It's a privilege to be the project lead of this initiative. This award is really for the individuals and families featured in the film, for their courage, their confidence and their participation. I hadn't realised that our camp innovation was a global first, so it's wonderful to have this opportunity to share it worldwide."
