For younger children a fun way to understand FASD is the resource 'My Brain, Me and FASD', produced by the UK National Organisation for FASD. 

It describes via an interactive game how FASD occurs, what can go on in the brain of someone with FASD, how school can be a struggle and strategies for living a better life. It’s also available in hard-copy.
