FASD-CAN has developed this resource to provide parents, caregivers, whānau and families with information about options they can discuss and consider with their family member who has FASD to legally protect their welfare and assets.
There is no right or wrong way to do this, or even a requirement to take any action at all. Everybody’s situation is different, but we do encourage families and whānau to sit down and talk about the legal options that are available to protect the best interests of their loved one as they reach maturity.
