New research: Social Workers and FASD

Researchers from the University of Auckland are seeking registered social workers (provisional or full registration) aged 18 and over across Aotearoa New Zealand to take part in a study exploring the role of social workers in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) practice.

This research aims to understand how social workers can be better supported in their professional development to work more effectively with those impacted by FASD. There are two phases of the research:

  • Phase One involves a short, anonymous online survey (10–15 minutes).

  • Phase Two invites social workers to participate in a 1.5-hour focus group (online or in-person) to discuss FASD-related practice.

  • You can do Phase One, Phase Two or both.
  • The deadline for Phase one is July 31.

All participants will be entered into a draw to win one of three $100 prizes.

This project has been approved by the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee (Ref: UAHPEC28659).
