Kia ora, I’m Rachael, and I’m the Accounts and HRC Coordinator at FASD-CAN.

HRC (Health Research Council) is a new three-year research project (2027-2029) intended to evaluate the efficacy and impact of our 'Life with FASD Level 1' training for whānau, including the positive outcomes and changes experienced as a result of the training.

I’m based in Tauranga and bring a varied background spanning administration, health and safety, volunteer coordination, whānau support and childcare. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work alongside people from many different walks of life.

What I enjoy most about being part of FASD-CAN is the people, the variety, and knowing that the mahi we do has a real purpose. I love connecting with others, finding solutions and doing my part to support the wider team and the people and whānau we walk alongside.

Outside of mahi, being outdoors is my happy place and my favourite way to recharge. I love bush walking, spending time at the beach and getting out on the water paddle-boarding. I also really value slowing down and enjoying time with friends and whānau, sharing good food, good conversation and making memories together.
