The recognition of FASD as a disability

Since its inception FASD-CAN has advocated for FASD to be recognised as a disability in Aotearoa NZ.

This is necessary to be able to access the level of support many of our loved ones with FASD need. A major part of this has been supporting the advocacy of the Disability Rights Commissioner and the Children’s Commissioner in their highlighting the human rights abuses of those with FASD. Link to their report here.
